TARRYTOWN, NY — The long-closed entrance to the Thruway from southbound Route 9 in Tarrytown which goes directly onto the bridge to Rockland will open in a couple of weeks. "Ramp E" was set to open by New Year's Day.

However, the ramp, which has been closed since March 2014, could be open by July 4, the Journal News reported.

When the ramp opens, drivers heading to Rockland will be able to go right onto the bridge, rather than via Route 119.
