The woman who was killed Saturday during a violent confrontation at Normandale Park was identified Monday by friends who described her as a fixture of Portland’s protest movement.
June Knightly, 60, of Northeast Portland died after an armed resident confronted a group of unarmed women who were volunteering as part of a motorcade group working on traffic and logistics ahead of a planned demonstration at the Northeast Portland park, friends and a witness said.
