Danielle Bradbery let her guard down to write her sophomore album, I Don't Believe We've Met, which she released late last year. The singer penned seven of the album's 10 tracks, and many of the songs give insight into her current relationship.

In an interview with her label, Big Machine Label Group, she shares how her several-year relationship with boyfriend Brent Hernandez influenced her project. "It has a big impact actually," she says. "You know, every relationship goes in waves, and I don’t think any relationship is perfect  —and if it is, that’s kind of weird. So you have to have your moments, and that has definitely been a big inspiration for this album. So I hope the boyfriend doesn’t mind, but there’s a lot coming out.”

In a previous interview with Taste of Country, Bradbery admitted that being so vulnerable on the album was scary. But, she knew she had to push herself out of her comfort zone and be honest so that listeners could relate. In turn, this honesty is what made I Don't Believe We've Met one of the most talked-about albums of 2017.

"I kind of had to tell myself, 'Okay, if you want to be this honest and real, you can't be afraid of doing it, you have to be confident about it,'" she says. "It's been nerve-wracking, it's been every emotion, but it's been really cool to see the transition and know that this is what the second album is supposed to be, and the reintroduction of myself."
