Groton woman’s husband arrested after she’s found stabbed to death
Gregory Fairbairn, 62, was also allegedly the caller who reported his wife unresponsive.
Police found Mary Fairbairn, 57, apparently stabbed to death in her Groton home on Saturday. Her husband, who was reportedly the one who called 911, was then arrested.
Officers found Fairbairn around 5:30 p.m. in the home on Lowell Road, according to a release from the Middlesex district attorney’s office.
Gregory Fairbairn, 62, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Additional charges were expected, authorities said.
The case is being treated as a homicide, the DA’s office said. Gregory Fairbairn was being held at the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction and was expected to be arraigned Monday.
