Denise Richards says Charlie Sheen once brought a hooker with him to Thanksgiving dinner

On Dec. 25, 2009, Sheen was arrested for assaulting his ex-wife Brooke Mueller in Aspen, Colorado. Sheen was charged with felony menacing, third-degree assault and criminal mischief. He pleaded guilty to the charges in August and was sentenced to 30 days in rehab, 30 days probation and 36 hours of anger management. Mueller also checked into rehab and the couple signed preliminary divorce paperwork.

In May 1998, Sheen suffered an drug overdose after injecting cocaine and was hospitalized. By Aug. of 1998, he checked into rehab as well as tacking on another year of probation from a previous drug offense. After the OD, his dad, Martin Sheen, asked a Malibu judge to toss him in rehab. "The worst thing that happened was the overdose, feeling my spirit dying," Sheen later told Playboy. On May 30, 2008, Charlie Sheen married his third wife Brook Mueller. The two are pictured here at the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 20, 2009. Three months later, Sheen was arrested for on charges of domestic violence, assault and menacing after attacking Mueller on Christmas Day. After a stream of incoherent interviews with what seems like every news outlet he could find, Sheen first headed over to 20/20 to clear things up with ABC News' Andrea Canning on Jan. 28, 2011. The first thing he wanted the world to know? He is high - on himself. "I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen," he chortled. "It's not available because if you try it, you will die. Your face will melt off, and your children will weep over your exploded body." "I have one speed," he added. "I've one gear, go! And I dare you to keep up with me."

After almost three years of marriage, Sheen's second wife Denise Richards filed for divorce in March of 2005 accusing Sheen of alcohol and drug abuse as well as threats of violence. The divorce was later finalized in Nov. of 2006 and proceeded to a custody battle over their two daughters Sam and Lola.

Charlie Sheen made a bombshell announcement on "Today" on Nov. 17, 2015, when he announced that he is HIV positive. Sheen, who is known for his wild lifestyle, spoke with Matt Lauer saying that he was diagnosed four years ago, but has always been open and honest about his virus with his sexual partners. However, hours after Sheen dropped his bombshell, a Beverly Hills lawyer said women were lining up with claims Sheen engaged them in sex with no prior warning about his HIV status, including his ex-girlfriend, porn star Bree Olson.

The tour broke a Ticketmaster record and sold out in 18 minutes but didn't remain so popular. The very first show, Sheen was booed off stage and eventually walked out. Apparently the audience was not at all impressed with the show, or lack of a show, that included a hodgepodge of video clips and Sheen rants that seemed hastily assembled. In March of 2006, Sheen caused a flap by questioning the government's account of the 9/11 attacks, saying in an interview that the collapse of the World Trade Center looked like a controlled demolition.

Back in June 2010, Sheen's Mercedes Benz was stolen and plunged over the side of a cliff -- for the second time that year. Los Angeles Police Department officials say that a security guard spotted the luxury car about 100 feet over the side of a cliff on Mulholland Drive just before 3 a.m. on June 15. Officials ran the plates and found the car was registered to Charlie Sheen. When police contacted the actor, he said he didn't know the car had been missing. The last time he saw his vehicle was at 4 p.m. that Monday afternoon. It turns out Sheen had left his keys in the car, just like he did four months earlier when his Mercedes was found upside-down at the bottom of a ditch in the same area.

Since their divorce, Charlie Sheen and his ex-wife Brooke Mueller have been involved in an ongoing custody battle with their twin sons Max and Bob. Sheen initially lost visitation rights to his boys after showing up inebriated a few times but most recently settled with Mueller for monitored visits. During an in-depth interview with Andrea Canning for ABC's "20/20," Sheen praised his live-in girlfriends - whom he calls 'goddesses' - Natalie Kenly, a graphic designer and Rachel Oberlin, a porn star. "You've read about the goddesses, come on. They're an international sensation. These are my girlfriends. These are the women that I love that have completed the three parts of my heart," Sheen said. Referencing his once ongoing battle with Warner Bros. about being dismissed from "Two and a Half Men," Sheen replied, "I've got a whole family to support and love," and "people beyond me are relying on that. I'm here to collect. They're going to lose. They're going to lose in a courtroom, so I would recommend that they settle out of court."

During part of Sheen's bewildering antics at the end of his stint on "Two and a Half Men," was the wild show he put on in 2011 when he brandished a machete and drank "tiger blood" on the rooftop of the Live Nation building in Beverly Hills. The bizarre incident took place just days after the actor appeared on 20/20 giving one of the most memorable interviews to date. "I am on a drug. It's called Charlie Sheen," he said. He added, "I've one speed, I've one gear, go! And I dare you to keep up with me" and that his wild ways were just "epic, epic behavior."

In February 1997, ex-girlfriend Brittany Ashland (l.) hit Charlie Sheen with a lawsuit claiming he beat her up and threatened to kill her. The lawsuit claimed that in Dec. of 1996, Sheen grabbed her by the hair and slammed her onto the marble floor of his Agoura Hills home knocking her unconscious and splitting her lip so bad she needed 7 stitches. The suit charged Sheen with assault, battery, negligence, false imprisonment and emotional distress. Sheen, pictured in court for the hearing on the left, was sentenced to one-year suspended prison term and two year's probation as well as fines and community service.

On March 5, 2011, Sheen aired the first episode of his own online TV show "Sheen's Korner," that featured a few of his "hanger-ons" and promoted products like "tiger blood." He's joined by his former girlfriend Natalie Kenly and rapper Simon Rex as he starts the show with fart noises and endless references to "winning."

At the height of his craziness, Comedy Central decided to cash in on the madness by hosting the Roast of Charlie Sheen on Sept. 10, 2011. The Roast was a huge success as it was watched by 6.4 million people making it the highest rated roast on Comedy Central to date.

On the Feb. 28, 2011 episode of NBC's "Today" show, Sheen had an unrepentant message for his detractors - you'll come crawling back soon enough. "I'm not angry, I'm passionate," the "Two and a Half Men" star said. "Everybody thinks I should be begging for my job back. On Oct. 26, 2010, a naked and nutty Charlie Sheen tore up his pricey Plaza Hotel suite after a booze-and-blow binge with porn star Capri Anderson (r.). Sheen reportedly erupted violently after returning to the posh hotel room with Anderson and discovering his wallet and cell phone were missing. Anderson called the front desk about the rampaging "Two and a Half Men" star and they made a 911 call at 1:34 a.m. When police arrived, the room was a disaster area with clothes strewn about and a table turned over. Sheen was brought to the hospital after admitting to drinking and using cocaine and had to pay $7,000 in damages.

In 1995, Sheen was named as one of many johns who frequented brothels owned by Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss. When questioned at her trial Sheen famously said, "I love sex and I can afford it."
