Body Of NH Man, Missing Since September, Found Dead: Roundup

Plus: 3 arrested on first-degree assault, burglary charges; man faces child porn and rape charges; and reckless operation arrests.

CONCORD, NH — The body of a man, missing since September 2019, was found this week in Berlin.

George Cross, 65, of Goebel Street in Berlin, was reported missing on Sept. 7, 2019. Berlin police, New Hampshire State Police, and the New Hampshire Fish & Game searched the city for him at the time, to no avail. For many months, according to Lt. Gary Prince of Troop F, "a magnitude of tips" were reported to police but the remain unsuccessful.

At around 7 p.m. May 21, human remains were found in a wooded area along Kent Street about a mile from his home. An autopsy was performed on the body and it was positively identified as Cross.

"The NH Medical Examiner deemed Cross' death not suspicious with the cause and manner of death undermined at this time," Prince said.

Acworth Man Charged With Rape, Other Charges

Stephen Gay, 25, pictured upper left, of Acworth, was arrested on May 1 on aggravated felonious sexual assault, perjury, falsifying physical evidence, and possession of child pornography charges after an investigation by state police that began in June 2019.

Gay is accused of raping a child under 16. He was held without bail.

Medical Call Leads To First Degree Assault Charges

Three people were arrested in Langdon after a medical call turned into a burglary investigation.

Police were sent to Chaffee Lane around 9:15 a.m. on April 24 and found a man suffering from serious injuries. An investigation revealed that "multiple assailants" had entered his home the previous evening and assaulted him. The next day, he was able to yell to a neighbor for help

State police showed up at the scene, investigated the incident, and later arrested Joshua Gagnon, lower left, 38, of Fitzwilliam on first-degree assault, burglary, and criminal threatening charges; Michael Hamel Jr., lower right, 37, of Keene, on first-degree assault, burglary, and criminal threatening charges; and Stephanie Malcolm, upper right, 34, of Troy, on first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit burglary, and burglary charges.

Nathanial Hamilton, 19, of New Durham was arrested on a reckless operation charge at 9 a.m. on May 7 on Route 16 North in Dover near Exit 7.

Jeffrey Downs, 44, upper center, of Stow, Massachusetts, was arrested at 7:20 a.m. on May 6 on a reckless operation charge on Route 16 North in Dover. Police accused him of driving 92 miles per hour in a 55 zone. Downs is due back in court June 16. Two days before, according to state police, Downs was accused of driving more than 100 miles per hour in the same area. He was cited in that case.

William Hallinan, 34, of Rochester was arrested at 11:50 p.m. on May 5 on a driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charge on Washington Street in Rochester.

Emmanuel Albino, 36, of Portland, Maine, was arrested at midnight on May 4 on DUI and DUI-second offense charges as well as an open container violation on Route 101 East in Exeter.

Brienn Cook, 23, of Manchester was arrested at 4:50 p.m. on May 3 on driving after revocation or suspension, misuse of plates, and unregistered vehicle charges on Interstate 95 North in Hampton.

Mark Klier, 62, of Hooksett was arrested on a reckless operation charge at 2:40 p.m. on May 6 on I-93 North in Manchester.

Derek Davis, 53, of Boston, MA, was arrested at 4:50 p.m. on May 5 on driving after revocation or suspension and driving without giving proof charges on I-293 North in Manchester.

Jennifer Rix, 45, of Hudson was arrested at 10:50 a.m. on May 4 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge on the Everett Turnpike South near Exit 6 offramp in Nashua.

Troop D Blotter

Jacob Braley, 27, of Lincoln was arrested on a reckless operation charge at 11:30 p.m. on May 6 on I-93 North in Bow.

Raoul Chasse, 63, of Warner was arrested at 8:40 p.m. on May 4 on a domestic violence-stalking charge after an incident on Kearsarge Mountain Road in Warner.

Loren McCormarck, 41, of Boscawen was arrested at 5:30 p.m. on May 3 on a burglary charge and two counts of domestic violence-criminal threatening on Bailey Drive in Boscawen.

Albert Emery, 24, of Hopkinton was arrested at 5:50 p.m. on May 3 on a possession of a controlled drug charge on Kearsarge Mountain Road in Warner.

Lawrence Landrigan, 57, of Lexington, MA, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. on May 2 on DUI and DUI-adult greater than 0.08 charges on I-93 North in Bow.

John Lewis, 55, of New London was arrested at 3:10 p.m. on May 1 on a criminal trespass charge on Hazen Drive in Concord.

Horace Hinton, 57 of Bennington, Vermont, was arrested on two bench warrants at 5:20 p.m. on May 1 at the Hooksett Rest Area South in Hooksett.

Tripp Shenaugh, 22, of Concord was arrested at 11:40 p.m. on May 1 on a DUI charge on I-93 North near Exit 17 in Concord.

Cassie Morse, 30, of North Adams, MA, was arrested at 5:20 p.m. on May 1 on possession of fentanyl, transport drugs in a motor vehicle, disobeying an officer, and driving after revocation or suspension charges at the Hooksett Rest Area South in Hooksett.
