Yankees-Phillies game Tuesday postponed amid Tropical Storm Isaias

Now it’s the weather forcing the Yankees and Phillies to juggle schedules.

Due to heavy rains headed to The Bronx on Tuesday, the Phillies-Yankees game at Yankee Stadium has been postponed. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader in Philadelphia on Wednesday.

The Yankees will be the home team in one game and the visitors in the other. The first game will start at 4:05 p.m. and the nightcap will begin 35 minutes after the final out of the first game.

The teams will play a single game on Thursday.

Two seven-inning doubleheaders in four days — the Yankees play the Rays in a doubleheader Saturday in St. Petersburg, Fla. — could tax Aaron Boone’s pitching staff even though doubleheaders have been reduced to seven-inning games this year.

The Phillies lost 6-3 to the Yankees at the Stadium on Monday night. It was their first game since July 26 when they faced the Marlins in Philly. The Phillies’ season was paused because of the Marlins’ outbreak of COVID-19. Two Yankees-Phillies games last week in Philly were postponed and the Yankees played two games against the Orioles in Baltimore.

Two twin bills so close together is just another sign this season is unprecedented.

“Hey, it’s 2020 and playing in this environment so we have to be able to adapt to it. I feel like we will be able to but it obviously creates some challenges,’’ said Boone, who spoke before Tuesday night’s game was called off. “The seven-inning doubleheader situation makes things a bit more manageable. We have all the people in there to kind of get through it and we will embrace the challenge of it all.’’
