Well, that was fast: Just a few hours after we reported that Paramount was developing two new Star Trek movies, specifically Quentin Tarantino’s weird thing and a sequel to Star Trek Beyond that we knew nothing about, the studio has shared some major new details about one of them. As reported by Variety, S.J. Clarkson has been named as the director for Star Trek 4, making her the first woman to direct one of the movies in the series. Clarkson is a veteran of Netflix’s Marvel shows, with a few episodes of both Jessica Jones and The Defenders under her belt, and she directed episodes of Life On Mars, Dexter, and Orange Is The New Black.

The Variety story also says that Star Trek 4 will involve more time travel adventures, with Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk and Zachary Quinto’s Spock running into Chris Hemsworth, who played Kirk’s father in J.J. Abrams’ 2009 Star Trek reboot (and has since gone on to become a much bigger star).
