Boys and Girls Club of Fremont County opening temporary club site for essential workers’ youth

The Boys & Girls Club of Fremont County is opening a temporary club site at Canon Exploratory School for essential workers’ youth only, according to a press release.

The site is scheduled to open on Monday. The hours of operation will from 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

“As surveys come in, we will check that we have space in the appropriate age group and notify you as soon as possible,” the press release stated. “If there is space, then you will be sent a registration link. Please complete the registration as soon as possible. Space is limited to 60 kids. If there is a greater need for our community, then we will explore expanding.”

The Club will be serving ages 5 and up. Each group will be housed in a classroom at the school, with a maximum of nine youth and one staff member per group. Breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner will be provided. The daily schedule will include activities and Club programs, as well as plenty of schoolwork time. Groups will rotate through shared spaces at the school, including the playground, but will not intermingle, the release stated.

The cost is $200 per 2-week session, per youth. This cost is to cover supplies and salaries for the extended hours. There is also a $25 per household registration fee. The registration fee will be good for any Club programs through August 14, 2020.
