Derek Jeter is the only one who put a damper on Dwyane Wade’s big night

Derek Jeter the owner is facing anger Derek Jeter the player would never understand.

He’s so disliked in Miami that on a night of joy at the Heat game for the final home game for Dwyane Wade — essentially Miami’s Derek Jeter — the Marlins CEO was booed Tuesday when shown on the big screen at AmericanAirlines Arena. It was the only sign of displeasure on a night Wade was showered with love — the kind of love Jeter would get as a player.

Clearly, fans don’t like the job he’s done so far as he has traded big stars Giancarlo Stanton, Christian Yelich, Marcell Ozuna and J.T. Realmuto for a club that’s 3-8 this season, a year after going 63-98. Team Jeter is trying to rebuild everything from the bottom up, but the early returns in those deals have not justified trading back-to-back NL MVPs.
