TURTLE CREEK, PA — When it comes to an ideal location for working at home, PCMag believes Turtle Creek is sleek.

PCMag ranked the small borough just east of Pittsburgh the nation's seventh-best location to be a remote worker. Only 50 U.S. and 10 Canadian cities and towns made the list.

To determine the rankings, PCMag analyzed data from Ookla Speedtest and BestPlaces.net to find places with affordable housing, fast gigabit, reasonably priced internet connections, and
remote-work-friendly lifestyles. The list contained large cities, suburbs and small towns, all with median house prices under $500,000.

"Pittsburgh has evolved into a tech-savvy, artsy city, and the eastern suburbs are some of the least expensive places to live in the area, including Turtle Creek but also Monroeville and North Versailles," the magazine review stated. "If you choose to work remotely out of Turtle Creek, you’ll be just 12 miles away from downtown Pittsburgh for a fraction of the cost of living inside the city proper.

"Even closer is the college-town ambiance from Carnegie-Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh, among other top schools. There are plenty of coffee shops and independent restaurants to choose from right in Turtle Creek, as well."
