Rodions Kurucs makes Brooklyn court appearance in ‘assault’ case

Brooklyn Nets forward Rodions Kurucs made a brief city court appearance in his domestic violence case Monday, just two days before his team’s home opener.

The 6-foot-9 NBA star arrived in Brooklyn court dressed in a dark suit and stayed mum as he was ordered back to court Nov. 19.

Kurucs, 21 — whose team will face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Nets’ home opener Wednesday — is accused of assaulting his 32-year-old live-in girlfriend June 27 in their Gowanus, Brooklyn, apartment.

During the argument, the Latvia-born player allegedly grabbed a knife and threatened to kill himself, sources said. Sources told The Post that Kurucs then redirected his rage toward his partner, dropping the knife to allegedly grab her by the neck, throw her on the bed and slap her.

His girlfriend suffered a rib injury during the alleged assault from falling off the bed and had to go to an area hospital, officials and sources said.

Kurucs faces several misdemeanor charges including assault with intent to cause physical injuries, which carries up to a year in prison.

Alex Spiro, Kurucs’ lawyer, has denied the assault allegations.

After Monday’s hearing, he said the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office has not yet produced the evidence against Kurucs that they intend to use in the case.

Kurucs has stayed mum about the accusations against him, though he indicated in a recent interview that the Nets have circled the wagons for him as he pushes through his legal woes.

“So I always know that they’ve got my back and they are always here for me to talk or I can trust them 100 percent,” he told reporters at the time.
