Trump applauds Cher for her stance on sanctuary cities

President Trump to Cher: I got you, babe.

The president, who has threatened to release illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, tweeted Monday that “I finally agree with @Cher!” after the “Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves” singer questioned whether Los Angeles can absorb an influx of migrants because the city is already unable to handle people who have fallen through the cracks.

“I Understand Helping struggling Immigrants, but MY CITY (Los Angeles) ISNT TAKING CARE OF ITS OWN. WHAT ABOUT THE 50,000+Citizens WHO LIVE ON THE STREETS. PPL WHO LIVE BELOW POVERTY LINE,& HUNGRY?” Cher wrote in a tweet on Sunday. “If My State Can’t Take Care of Its Own(Many Are VETS)How Can it Take Care Of More.”

In another tweet on Monday, Trump said his proposal to send migrants to the sanctuary cities will take effect – although it is unclear if Homeland Security has taken the steps to implement the plan.

“Those Illegal Immigrants who can no longer be legally held (Congress must fix the laws and loopholes) will be, subject to Homeland Security, given to Sanctuary Cities and States!” he posted.

Trump, after reports last week said his administration had twice considered and rejected a plan to bus illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, like Los Angeles and New York, to retaliate against his political weapons, embraced the idea.

On Friday, he tweeted that if “Radical Left Democrats” don’t want the migrants in sanctuary cities, why should “others be expected to take them into their communities?”
