Meghan Markle looks almost impossibly perfect whenever she steps out in public, but her flawless style still comes with a major price tag. Prince Harry's fiancée has dropped approximately $30,000 on designer duds for nine major events, not including the official photocall for their engagement or the $75,000 gown for the subsequent photo shoot.

Although the six-figure clothing budget exceeds what most people make in a single year, the royal family isn't responsible for footing the bill — at least for now. Meghan has invested in her chic wardrobe with just her personal savings, People reports.

Typically, Meghan's assistants call in several different options from designers before selecting her final look for an event. They return any unused clothes and pay for anything she does wear. While the massive amount of publicity the celeb generates might entitle her to some freebies, Meghan still pays the ticket price — and those chic coats aren't cheap.

Elle calculates her outfit for an engagement in Edinburgh cost $3,276, and the ensemble for the Christmas day service alone added up to nearly $10,000. Meghan doesn't exclusively rely on high-end brands for her outfits, however. She's also chosen some budget picks along the way, like a $75 Marks & Spencer sweater back in January.

On Christmas, Meghan wore a $1,295 Sentaler coat along with a $1,550 Chloé bag, $798 Stuart Weitzman boots, and $5,995 diamond earrings.

Whatever the price tag, the former actress can certainly afford it. Her net worth currently stands at about $5 million thanks to her stint at Suits — where she earned an estimated $50,000 per episode — not to mention additional income from endorsements, movies, and other side gigs.

Plus, she won't have to drop the big bucks forever. After she marries Prince Harry on May 19, her clothing budget will count as an expense needed for public life — and that bill gets paid by the Duchy of Cornwall, a vast collection of properties belonging to Prince Charles.

The private estate pays out about $28 million annually to the heir apparent, who in turn funds the young royals and anything they might need. That includes expenses like staff salaries, office costs, and yes, clothes. Plus, Prince Harry has inherited plenty of money in his own right (including $13.4 million from his mother when he turned 30), so Meghan won't have to worry about budgeting any time soon.

While it might all sound extremely extravagant, becoming one of the most photographed women in the world certainly requires a professional-level wardrobe. And if the numbers still seem eye-popping, consider this: The royal family generates an estimated $55 billion for the UK economy in sectors like properties, tourism, business trade, and yes, fashion. That seems like a solid return on investment to us.
