As a native of North Dakota, a UND graduate and a member of Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation, I want to applaud the Grand Forks City Council for changing Columbus Day to Indigenous People’s Day.
How exciting to know that positive change occurs when leaders take the risk of correcting horror stories of past injustices to Native Americans.
