They wanted to eat their greens, but not that.

A family in Glendale, Wisc., found a live frog in a salad they purchased at a local grocery store.

The Allen family found the frog a package of Simple Truth Organic salad on Tuesday. They bought it at the local Pick n’ Save and were making dinner when they discovered the frog.

Karlie Allen started recording, and the small frog can be seen in side the plastic packaging.

“I’m thinking, ‘One, how the heck did that get in there, and two, that is absolutely disgusting,” she told local NBC affiliate WTMJ.

The family let the frog go and returned to the grocery store to show the clerk what happened. They were given a refund, but said they’re still looking for answers as to how it happened.

Roundy’s Supermarkets, the grocery store’s parent company, apologized and said, “This happens from time to time when organic products are involved.”
