Severe Weather Threat Ends, Cold Temperatures Expected
The threat of severe weather in Alabama has ended for the night, but expect colder air to linger through the night and into the morning.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A line of storms tracked near the Mississippi/Alabama line could bring some severe weather to the state Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
A Tornado Watch was issued earlier Sunday afternoon for nearby Walker, Cullman and Tuscaloosa counties, in additions to most northeaster counties in the state. The watch ended just after 9 p.m.

According to the NWS, the storms that passed through the state Sunday night will leave behind cooler temperatures. "It was quite a warm December today, but the front moving through tonight will bring much cooler air for Monday," the NWS report said. "Sunshine returns as clouds vacate the region from west to east."
