The official, verified Twitter account for the Department of Defense retweeted a call for President Trump to resign on Thursday.

“The solution is simple,” the tweet read, adding: “Roy Moore: Step down from the race. Al Franken: Resign from congress. Donald Trump: Resign from the presidency. GOP: Stop making sexual assault a partisan issue. It’s a crime as is your hypocrisy.”

The tweet was only up briefly before it disappeared. The DOD has 5.2 million followers.

The Pentagon said the retweet was a mistake made by an “authorized operator” who “immediately deleted it” after discovering the error.

“An authorized operator of the Department of Defense’s official Twitter site erroneously retweeted content that would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense,” Col. Rob Manning, Director of Defense press operations, said in a statement.
