Shocking footage posted online shows the destructive aftermath left by rioters Wednesday inside one Capitol building Senate office.
CNN reporter Ali Zaslav posted a video to Twitter of the mess inside the Senate parliamentarian’s office, its floor littered with papers, folders and other debris.
The ransacked office was just one of the many sites targeted by President Trump-supporting vandals who barged into the Capitol, disrupting a vote to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s suite of offices were also trashed, with rioters smashing a mirror, rummaging through desks, and breaking the lawmaker’s nameplate.
One woman was fatally shot in the violence, over a dozen people arrested and several firearms were recovered.
By Wednesday night, lawmakers returned from lockdown to resume the Electoral College vote.
