A Honiton author has launched a new stargazing guide at Exeter Central Library.

Karen Hedges, known for her engaging public talks, introduced her book Stargazing for All to an appreciative audience.

The guide, featuring illustrations by artist John Meacham, caters to both beginners and amateur astronomers looking for a refresher.

Drawing on her experiences as a telescope presenter and educator, Ms Hedges crafted the book to be accessible to a wide audience.

It is now available at Winstone’s Bookshop in Sidmouth, as well as online at Waterstones and Amazon.

During the event, the author expressed her gratitude to Exeter Central Library for hosting the book launch.

She also presented a copy of her book to David Strange, chair of the Norman Lockyer Observatory, who praised her outreach work and promotion of the observatory.

Ms Hedges has previously given numerous talks at Exeter's St Thomas Library, where she contributed to a monthly science club.

Her new book is expected to attract interest from both the young and the old, with Winstone’s Bookshop offering a diverse selection of books.

The Norman Lockyer Observatory, known for its historic telescopes, continues to be a focal point for local astronomy enthusiasts.
