Emmy winner sound engineer James Emswiller suffered a terrifying heart attack on the set of the upcoming film “Mr. Rogers,” this week.
Emswiller, known for his work on “The Avengers,” “Jack Reacher,” and “Abduction,” suffered a fatal heart attack while working on a balcony on the set in Lebanon, Pa.
Emswiller went out for a smoke break on the second story of the balcony when the coronary struck. He plummeted from the balcony and fell to his death. (RELATED: Star Actor’s Death Has Been Ruled A Suicide. The Details Are Tragic)
Tom Hanks, who is playing Mr. Rogers in the upcoming biopic, was reportedly on set during the incident.

EMTs quickly responded to the scene and tried reviving him using CPR but it was unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the hospital 3 hours later.
“This is a devastating tragedy and the studio is investigating the matter. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim’s loved ones, friends, and colleagues,” Sony Pictures said in a statement.
Emswiller won an Emmy for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Limited Series or a Movie in 2015 for his work on “Bessie.” He was 61 years old.
