Val Kilmer announces memoir, ‘I’m Your Huckleberry’

Obviously, it was either this or “The Iceman Cometh.”
Val Kilmer has announced a memoir that will be released next spring through Simon & Schuster. Its title? “I’m Your Huckleberry,” a tribute to his portrayal of Doc Holliday in 1993’s “Tombstone.” We also would have accepted “I have not yet begun to defile myself.”

“While containing plenty of tantalizing celebrity anecdotes, ‘I’m Your Huckleberry’ — taken from the famous line Kilmer delivers as Holliday in ‘Tombstone’ — is ultimately a deeply moving reflection on mortality and the mysteries of life,” the publisher’s website promises.
Simon & Schuster also says the book will address Kilmer’s battle with throat cancer. Kilmer, who is a Christian Scientist — many of whom reject modern medicine — didn’t address his disease or even confirm he was dealing with it until 2017, when he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he’d been receiving treatment for two years, including chemotherapy.

“I’m Your Huckleberry” will be released April 21, 2020.
