Former USC cornerback Jack Jones waived his right to an arraignment and pleaded not guilty Monday in Ventura County Superior Court to charges of burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime, according to online records.

The charges come from his arrest on June 8, when police said Jones and two other former Long Beach Poly football players broke into a Panda Express fast-food restaurant in Santa Paula at 3 a.m. Both commercial burglary under $950 and conspiracy to commit a crime are felony charges. Jones also faces misdemeanor possession of burglary tools.

Jones, 20, first appeared in court on June 21, along with the two other young men, Douglas Curry and Lohia Marks, when his arraignment was continued until Monday. An early disposition conference is scheduled next for Aug. 14.

Jones, a former five-star recruit who intercepted four passes for the Trojans last season as a sophomore, left the university in May after he was declared academically ineligible for next season.

Trojans coach Clay Helton said then Jones planned to enroll in a junior college.
