Michigan WW2 veteran who guarded Tomb of the Unknown Soldier dies of COVID-19 at age 101

BURTON, MI – Jack Eaton of Burton loved to dance and was ready and determined to dance again when he entered the hospital for hip surgery Nov. 17.

Eaton, a 101-year-old World War II veteran who was the oldest living sentinel to have guarded the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, died of COVID-19 Thursday, Dec. 3.
