13 Thoughts Every Runner Has Definitely Had as Told by “The Last Dance”
Turns out Air Jordan is more relatable than you thought.
Without races (or sports of any kind), the coronavirus pandemic has left our calendars a little less full. But then ESPN blessed us with The Last Dance, a 10-part docuseries showcasing Michael Jordan and his career with the Chicago Bulls. The series gave us some sports drama to look forward to once a week—a behind-the scenes look at what went into the Bulls dynasty, on-point 90s fashion (the sunglasses, the baggy suits, c’mon), and some serious cigar smoking.
The doc highlighted Jordan’s unmatched competitive drive, the moments that defined his career in Chicago, and how his teammates (from Scottie Pippen to Dennis Rodman to Steve Kerr) played their roles to a T when he needed them the most. With 10 hours of classic footage, it also included tons of new commentary from those who were there. Which obviously gave us plenty of very memorable—and gif-worthy—moments that that internet has found to be truly applicable in any situation.
So, here are 13 gems from The Last Dance that perfectly sum up the highs—and lows—of running.
