America's Got Talent comedian Grandma Lee passes away at 85... six months after falling and breaking her hip
America's Got Talent favorite Grandma Lee has died at age 85.
The comedienne - born Francis Lee Strong - passed away at her assisted living facility in Jacksonville, Florida on Friday, Lee's son Kelly told TMZ.
Lee, who was on season four of the NBC reality competition, broke her hip back in November and never fully recovered from the accident.

Her son added that the death was not coronavirus related.
The funny lady had been performing up until her November fall, which happened when she fell down in her hotel room after a show in Tampa, Florida.
Grandma Lee had her two sons at her side at the time of her death, said Kelly.
He said she felt loved, having spent the past few days reading texts and Facebook posts from friends.

Grandma Lee was a hit during the 2009 season of AGT, where she made it to the finale before being eliminated.
Speaking about her approach to comedy, she once said: 'I go up there and wing it ... but I had to clean it up for the show.'

'I won’t say a cuss word or anything to jeopardize [myself]. I can do clean or edgy.'
In May 1995 Lee lost her husband of 37-years to cancer. She began doing stand-up to cope with his passing.
Lee is survived by her four children.
