Well he can’t park his $200,000 sports car outside a $100,000 house.

Evangelical pastor John Gray is in the news again for living in a $1.8 million home, just months after going on Facebook to explain why he felt justified in buying his wife a Lamborghini for their anniversary.

Gray’s palatial 7,247 square foot pad is located in the affluent South Carolina town of Simpsonville, according to the Greenville News. The 45-year-old preacher has a 10-mile commute to work.

“Don’t confuse what I do with who I am,” Gray said in explaining the car he gifted to his wife was bought with revenue from his book and TV deals, not church money.

His home, however, was reportedly paid for by parishioners.

The chief financial officer for the Relentless Church that employs Gray reportedly argued the home is property of the parish and such perks are necessary to recruit a preacher of Gray’s caliber. Gray previously worked with TV superstar Joel Osteen, who reportedly lives in a $10.5 million in Houston.

“This is a practice that is done with every denomination in the nation,” according to CFO Travis Hayes. “This is an asset that belongs to the church.”

Relentless boasts 15,000 members and sees upward of 200,000 followers logging in to hear Gray’s sermons online, Hayes claimed.
