Comic Relief 2019 has raised a total over £63 million as the charity brought together a number of TV, music and film personalities.

The Red Nose Day charity telethon had raised £63,548, 668 by 1.30am on Saturday (16 March), with the show continuing into the early hours.

The last edition of Comic Relief in 2017 raised over £70 million, while 2018’s Sport Relief raised £38 million during their live TV event.

Since the charity’s inception in 1985, Comic Relief has raised a grand total of over £1 billion in a bid to rid the world from poverty.

This year’s Red Nose Day telethon included a bunch of special entertainment surprises, including a sequel to Four Weddings And A Funeral.

Other highlights included a Bodyguard one-off episode featuring Keeley Hawes, and an opening salvo from David Beckham.

The night was hosted by a number of duo presenters, including Emma Willis and Paddy McGuinness, Zoe Ball and David Tennant, and Alesha Dixon and Romesh Ranganathan.
