These Are The Best Places To Live In Michigan: 2021 Rankings

MICHIGAN — Several Michigan towns and neighborhoods were listed among Niche's 2021 best city rankings.

The list of top cities was made using city data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other sources.

According to Niche, Ann Arbor is the second best city in the country for public schools. The city ranked No. 6, overall, compared to large cities across the nation.

The rankings consider a variety of topics to determine a town or city's standing, including affordability, local housing market, neighborhood diversity, local public schools and walkability, to name a few.

According to the study, these are the 20 best neighborhoods and towns in Michigan:

2. Troy— Town
3. Bloomfield Charter Township — Suburb of Detroit
4. Beverly Hills — Suburb of Detroit
5. Ann Arbor — City
6. Grosse Point Park — Suburb of Detroit
7. Novi — Town
8. Northville — Suburb of Detroit
9. Birmingham — Suburb of Detroit
10. Haslett — Suburb of Lansing
11. East Grand Rapids — Suburb of Grand Rapids
12. Huntington Woods — Suburb of Detroit
13. Grosse Pointe Farms — Suburb of Detroit
14. Northville Township — Suburb of Detroit
15. Berkley — Suburb of Detroit
16. Lodi Township — Town
17. Grosse Pointe — Suburb of Detroit
18. Forest Hills — Suburb of Grand Rapids
19. Royal Oak – Suburb of Detroit
20. Farmington — Suburb of Detroit

Nationally, Niche's research found that Chesterbrook, PA, was the best place to live in America, while The Woodlands, TX, earned top honors in the Best Cities to Live in America rankings.
