Even bigger Nite Lites display bringing cheer to holiday season

BROOKLYN, MI - More than 90 new displays will greet visitors when Nite Lites takes over Michigan International Speedway for the holiday season on Thanksgiving Day.

The five-mile lighted display, which visitors view from the comfort of their cars while listening to synced holiday music on their radios, opens at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22.

This is the second year the display is at the speedway, after moving from the Jackson County Fairgrounds in 2017.

Visitors enter the display from U.S. 12. It features two lanes of traffic, as visitors drive through six lighted tunnels and view 15 mega trees, a 12 Days of Christmas display and more than 10 miles of Christmas lights.

Hours are 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday through Dec. 31. Cost is $25 per car. All veterans and active military personal are admitted free on Dec. 5.

The Winter Wonderland display, with crafts and concessions, is open from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and Dec. 7-9, 14-16 and 21-23. Children can tell Santa their Christmas wish list and take a free train ride from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Live reindeer are there from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 7, 14 and 21.

Runners and walkers can get a sneak peek at the display before cars are permitted during the annual 5K Fun Run/Walk, which starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21. Entry fees and registration information is available on the Nite Lites website.
