Former Patriot Chris Long will donate full season of paychecks

After already donating the first six weeks of his salary over to funding scholarships, Chris Long is going to give the remainder of his 2017 game checks to “support education equality.”

The ex-Patriots defensive end – now with the Eagles – announced through his foundation on Wednesday that he will donate the remaining 10 game day paychecks of the 2017 season. The first six paychecks of the season went to the support of a scholarship program in his hometown, Charlottesville, Virginia.

According to the announcement, Long’s donation will “support organizations in his three NFL communities in an effort to combine communal forces to create equal education opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders”:
