HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Vegan Soul Bakery will be the newest addition to the Long Reach Village Center revitalization, occupying approximately 2,393 square feet. Vegan Soul Bakery is family-owned and operated by Chef Siobhan, a resident of Columbia. Vegan Soul Bakery offers one of the broadest selections of vegan food and desserts in the country and is the first of its kind in Columbia. It also offers nationwide shipping and has previously distributed its products in local vegan restaurants and grocery stores across the region.

“Vegan Soul Bakery will be a wonderful new addition to our revitalization of Long Reach Village Center, bringing wonderful vegan food and desserts to the community,” Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “Long Reach continues to be the model for what a renewed and community-focused village center can look like. With each new small business, we’re planting roots for a road to recovery and a central hub for emerging entrepreneurs, arts, and culture.”

Vegan Soul Bakery has been at local farmer's markets in Fells Point, Canton, Havre De Grace, Waverly and Howard County. It has also impressed crowds with full vegan cuisine and vegan desserts at large events such as Artscape for the last several years. All the best vegan food and desserts will be available in Columbia at a full-service carry-out location in Long Reach Village Center. A full array of vegan desserts will be offered including birthday cakes, cinnamon rolls, donuts, cookies, pies and pastries. Additionally, a full menu of vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner options will include pancakes, french toast, collard greens, mac and cheese, vegan fried chicken, vegan crab cakes, take and bake items, along with a raw juice bar.

“Vegan Soul Bakery will be a staple in the Long Reach community and Columbia,” Siobhan said. “Our mission is to help everyone incorporate good plant-based food into their diet. At Vegan Soul Bakery, we create soul ties with food in a vegan way.”

In the past year, more than 45,000 square feet of office and retail space has been leased, including 25,000 square feet of the space that previously housed Safeway. Vegan Soul Bakery joins VM Services, Howard International Grocer, Blooming Hope Dominican Salon, Roving Radish, Manneq Art, Head Start, Every Kid Can Cook, Roll Up N Dye, the Columbia Arts Center, the Stonehouse Community Center, the African Art Museum of Maryland and new Howard County Arts Council artists’ studios.
