The North Carolina man accused of setting a fire in a Longmont Target last summer has entered into a plea deal with prosecutors.

Nathan Cordick, 20, pleaded guilty in Boulder District Court on Friday to one count of first-degree arson, a Class 3 felony.

In exchange, prosecutors dropped charges of criminal mischief, burglary and theft.

Cordick, who is free on a $100,000 personal recognizance bond, is set for sentencing Oct. 18.

The fire was set inside the southwest corner of the store at 551 S. Hover St., on June 18, 2018, according to police. The fire sprinkler system kept the fire under control and firefighters were able to extinguish the rest.

Target repaired that area of the store and replaced products due to associated smoke damage, but the store was closed for repairs for more than two weeks. The company did not publicly release the extent of the estimated cost of the damage.

Cordick was identified as a suspect in the case and arrested in February in North Carolina.
