With the Apple TV+ series The Me You Can't See, Oprah and Prince Harry's intention was to start a global conversation about mental health.The five-part series, which premiered on May 21, featured an array of notable figures and civilians sharing their experiences, and mental health experts providing insight. "I wanted to take off the masks to show everybody is going through something," Oprah said in an interview with Oprah Daily's Arianna Davis.
The conversation will continue with a town hall event landing on Apple TV+ on Friday, May 28, a week after the show's initial premiere. According to a press release, The Me You Can't See: A Path Forward will reunite Oprah and Prince Harry, in addition to subjects from the series.
Specifically, Oprah and Prince Harry will be joined by actress Glenn Close, who processed the emotional toll of being raised in a cult in the show; Zak Williams, who was diagnosed with PTSD after his father, Robin Williams's, death; and author and peer counselor Ambar Martinez. Members of the Me You Can't See's advisory board will weigh in, too.
In addition to being executive producers, Oprah and Prince Harry spoke to their own mental health journeys in the series. Prince Harry even received therapy on camera while processing his fears of landing in London. Other episodes featured include Lady Gaga, who previously shared her experience with sexual assault and PTSD during Oprah's 2020 Vision Tour; Ginny Fuchs, an Olympics-bound boxer who lives with OCD; a young Syrian refugee named Fawzi; and more.
The Me You Can't See: A Path Forward will stream exclusively on AppleTV+, alongside The Oprah Conversation, in which Oprah has intimate sit-down conversations with notable figures like former President Barack Obama, Elliot Page, and Dolly Parton; Oprah's Book Club, where Oprah interviews the authors of her book club selections; and Oprah Talks COVID-19, launched in response to the pandemic.
