The Boulder County Coroner’s Office has identified the skier killed Tuesday in an apparent crash at Eldora as Robert Williams, 60, of Nederland.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday after ski patrol personnel with Eldora found Williams lying on the ground in the trees along the ski run “Hot Dog Alley.”
Williams was unconscious and alone and ski patrol immediately began first aid and CPR, but he was pronounced dead in the first aid room at 11 a.m.
Investigators said it appears Williams crashed into a tree at some point in the morning, and there were no signs of foul play.
The coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy and investigation to determine the official cause and manner of death.
