Man Shot During Domestic Dispute In Jefferson County: Sheriff

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL β€” A man was shot Sunday night during a domestic dispute with his girlfriend, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's office. The incident occurred in Adger, Alabama, just before 10:30 p.m.

Deputy Chief David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said deputies arrived and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his stomach. Witnesses informed the deputies that the injured man had been assaulting his girlfriend by hitting her with a dog chain and that the man’s father tried to stop him.

Witnesses said the man threaten to get his shotgun when he was then shot by his father. "The father told deputies that he feared for his family when he shot his son," Agee said.

The injured man was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Deputies are still investigating this case.
