At least 2 hurt in Warren County rollover crash, witness says

At least two people were injured when the car they were in crashed into a fence and horse wagon before rolling onto its side, a witness reports.

The accident happened just after 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Bloomsbury Road in Franklin Township, Warren County. The driver of a Pontiac G6 was headed south on Bloomsbury Road when the car left the roadway for an unknown reason, according to the witness.

One female occupant was transported from the crash scene by Franklin Township Fire Department’s Emergency Medical Services and paramedics to a landing zone set up by the fire company behind Franklin Township fire station No. 3 in Asbury, where she was airlifted to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, the witness said.

Another female occupant was taken by Greenwich Rescue Squad to St Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, the witness reported.

What led to the accident remains unclear. A trooper with the New Jersey State Police Washington barracks couldn’t provide further information Sunday afternoon, saying the crash remains under investigation.

Aside from state police, responding to Sunday’s accident included the Franklin Twp Fire Dept. and its Emergency Medical Services; Greenwich Rescue Squad; Hampton Rescue Squad; and paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township.
