🎃 Halloween Poll!
Will you celebrate Halloween this year? Tell us your plans! So far, 51.4% are turning off their porch lights, 34.7% will hand out candy, 5.6% are attending a party, and another 8.3% will accompany children to go trick-or-treating.

📰 Here are the top stories in Los Angeles today:

1) The police presence at LAX on Wednesday involved a drug bust. At 7:30 a.m., someone went through security with a bunch of candy that turned out to contain 12,000 fentanyl pills. The suspect trying to move the drugs fled, but authorities said they know whom they’re dealing with. (NPR)

2) Two children were stabbed at John Marshall HS on Wednesday. “Officials later said two students were involved and that a third unidentified person may not have been a student.” On Thursday, students walked out during recess and protested. They are demanding that someone “hold admin accountable.” (KTLA)

3) Los Angeles City Council scandal update: Kevin De Leon announced on Wednesday that he won’t resign in the wake of the racism and power-grab scandal that was caught on tape. The newly elected L.A. City Council President Paul Krekorian responded to the announcement by reminding De Leon that “apologizing is not the same as making amends.” He’s calling for De Leon to step down. There’s no word yet from Gil Cedillo, the other council member who has been asked to resign. (Paul Krekorian)

4) Did you get a flat tire on Mulholland Drive on Wednesday? If so, you have company. Around 36 morning commuters on the 405 near Mulholland Drive got flat tires. Scuttlebutt says that a box of nails might have fallen off a truck. According to the California Highway Patrol, “it didn't appear to be intentional.” (ABC)

5) Did you know that L.A.’s favorite big cat has its own festival? Celebrate P-22 Day on Saturday at Griffith Park. The FREE festival opens at 11 a.m. There will be “over 100 exhibitors, (a) rock-climbing wall, children’s art activities” and 3rd Rock Hip Hop! (Save LA Cougars)
