Vancouver police say high-risk sex offender Richard Darren Rondeau has been arrested. He was wanted Canda-wide after failing to return to his halfway house on May 23.
The 33-year-old was found by New Westminster police at a residence early Saturday morning.
“Although Rondeau was not found committing additional offences at the time of his arrest, VPD investigators will be trying to determine his actions over the past couple of days,” said police in a statement.
Rondeau is serving a five year and 10-month sentence after being convicted on a number of offences related to a sexual assault seven years ago.
The assault involved a 17-year-old he met at a party in Winnipeg.
He remains in custody.
