The votes are in, and America has chosen its winner. His crown? One of the most glorious mullets of 2022.
What started with 688 contestants, then to the top 25 of the nation’s finest mullets, has been boiled down to one champion.
Emmitt Bailey, an 8-year-old from Menomonie, Wisconsin, was announced Sunday as the winner in the kids’ division for the USA Mullet Championships.
Bailey, who got 9,896 votes, will be taking home a cold $2,500 in cash. Hopefully, he gives his barber an excellent tip from his winning.
The winner of the teen mullet division was also announced on Sunday morning.
Cayden Kershaw from Wausau, Wisconsin, took home the top prize for the teen’s division with 3,215 votes.
Wisconsin is not just known for cheese anymore. It’s slowly becoming the state of the mullet.
Registration for the open mullet division is still open till August 31. Contestants must be at least 19 years of age, must submit three profile pics of themselves showing off their mullet, and there’s a $10 fee to enter the contest. Half the fee will be donated to Michigan Wig Foundation for kids.
No wigs or extensions are allowed.
If more than 500 people register, Mullet Champ USA will conduct an elimination round offline before the First Round of Facebook voting begins.
