Man charged with stabbing brother to death over a cellphone

Brotherly love this was not.

A man with the last name “Love” knifed his own brother to death inside their Midwood apartment Sunday night, following an argument over a cellphone, police said.

Almond Love, 40, was charged with murder early Monday in the death of his brother, 36-year-old Andre Lee, according to cops.

Love allegedly plunged a knife into his brother’s chest at around 5 p.m. Sunday amid an argument over a cellphone inside their apartment on Ocean Avenue near Avenue J.

When police arrived they found Lee unconscious on the floor. He was pronounced dead at New York Community Hospital.

“They got into an argument, and he killed him. I don’t want to say much more. Andre is dead, man. I can’t deal with this s–t,” said a man who identified himself as a friend of Lee’s and who walked out of the brothers’ apartment Monday.

Neighbors at the 34-unit building were stunned by the tragedy.

“I’m heartbroken to see this,” said one woman. “Andre is a great man. My son grew up with him. I’ve known him his whole life practically. He was always respectful and helped me with everything.”
