WEST FARGO -- Scott Jacobson has been racing for nearly three decades. At this point in life, it's become part of who he is.

"Some people go fishing, camping, hunting and stuff like that," Scott said. "We go racing."

His love of the sport has poured down to his family, particularly two of his children. His oldest son, Kelly, competes in the IMCA Sports Modified races along side his dad. When they go on the dirt, they're competitors. Once they're off, they're a father and son team.

"We spend countless hours in the garage putting my car, his car, my sisters car," Kelly said. "We spend plenty of time together trying to get all three of these ready to go every week."

His daughter, Andrea, has been racing go-kart to start her career. She moved to racing hobby stocks in the last year.

"Always had a liking for racing and like my Dad's always done it and I've always been around it growing up," Andrea said.

The three were all competing at Red River Valley Speedway on Friday night. While it wasn't on Father's Day, Andrea and Kelly still think it was a nice gift to spend time with their father at a place he loves so much.

"I know like a Father's Day is a day for like my Dad and he likes to spend his time with his kids," Andrea said. "This is my way to spend time with him. "

For Scott, it's the perfect way to begin the weekend.

"There's nothing else I'd rather do, it means the world to me," he said. "I love hanging out with my kids, doing what we love."
