Fire breaks out at Brooklyn synagogue

Flames broke out in the basement of an orthodox synagogue in Brooklyn early Friday, the FDNY said.

The fire erupted in a storage area in the basement of the Satmar synagogue on 52nd Street near 14th Avenue in Borough Park soon after midnight, authorities said.

About 60 firefighters responded and extinguished the flames in about half an hour, fire officials said.

No one was injured in the fire, authorities said.

The cause is under investigation.
