What's Open, Closed For Christmas 2018 In Reston

Wondering what holiday hours will be with Christmas on a Tuesday this year? We have the answers.

RESTON, VA -- It's Christmas, and that means people are closing their doors and getting ready to celebrate with family. And with the holiday falling on a Tuesday this year, that can mean a lot of confusion about what is open and what is closed, and on what days.

Not to worry: we've got a basic breakdown of what you can expect in our area over the Christmas break.

Government Offices: All government offices are closed both Monday and Tuesday, reopening on Wednesday.

Schools: All Fairfax County schools will be closed from Dec. 24 through Jan. 4 for the Winter Break.

Libraries: All libraries will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, reopening on Wednesday.

Animal Shelters: Animal shelters in Fairfax County are always closed on Mondays. They will also be closed on Tuesday for Christmas Day.

Courts: All courts are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Fairfax Connector: Running on a holiday weekday schedule on Monday (Christmas Eve), and on a Sunday schedule on Tuesday (Christmas Day). Holiday weekday service is when all routes operate regular weekday service except: Routes 231, 232, 335, 393, 394, 395, 422, 432, 461, 494, 495, 556, 585, 599, 624, 634, 644, 698, 699, 724 and 985, which will NOT operate at all.

Trash collection: There will be no trash/recycling collection on Christmas Day.

Tuesday customers will receive trash/recycling collection on Wednesday, December 26, 2018.
Wednesday customers will receive trash/recycling collection on Thursday, December 27, 2018.
Thursday customers will receive trash/recycling collection on Friday, December 28, 2018.
Friday customers will receive trash/recycling collection on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
