Look at them. Those perfect, circular twists of doughy, sugary joy.

Krispy Kreme has undoubtedly owned the modern doughnut scene (is a ‘doughnut scene’ a thing? It should be).

Since their initial opening 80 (!) years ago, way back in 1937, through to their UK launch in 2003 and beyond, they’ve brought glazed, American-style doughnuts to the forefront of almost everyone’s treat day.

Only there’s one group who haven’t been so lucky. The Irish.

You see, that UK expansion didn’t include a little trip over to Ireland.

While they may have the best Guinness in the world, and lush, rolling green fields, what they don’t have is Krispy Kreme. Which sounds absolutely dreadful to be honest.

BUT FEAR NOT, IRELAND. YOUR TIME HAS COME.

Krispy Kreme has announced that they’re set to open their first Irish store in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin, The Irish Independent reports.

No word on when the store will be opening just yet, but given the wheels are in motion, it likely won’t be too long before our Irish pals can start tucking into maple glazed delights.

More stores are reportedly set to follow too, so even if you’re not Dublin-based, you’ll be able to sample Krispy Kremes before long.

Get hyped!
