De Blasio says NYPD cop should lose badge for pulling gun on protesters

An NYPD cop pulled his gun on protestors over the weekend — a threat of deadly force that the mayor said should get him stripped of his gun and badge.

“There’s a video going around of a police officer in the middle of a situation that admittedly looks chaotic, but protesters were in front of that police officer, that police officer drew his gun at some point yesterday,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a press conference Monday morning.

“That to me seeing that video was absolutely unacceptable … I want you to note on that video, a superior officer immediately came over and move that officer away from that crowd, that officer should have his gun and badge taken away today.”

The mayor added that he didn’t know all the facts around the Sunday incident and said there will be an investigation.
