A professor at Marshall University has been suspended after a video clip surfaced of her wishing that Trump supporters would catch the coronavirus and die before the election.

“Yesterday, [Trump] held [a rally] inside,” Biology professor Jennifer Mosher said in a video posted by one of her students, according to 13 WOWK News. “Nobody wore a mask. And I’ve become the type of person where I hope they all get it and die.”

Mosher continued: “I’m sorry, but that’s so frustrating, just, I don’t know what else to do. You can’t argue with them. You can’t talk sense with them. … I said to somebody yesterday, I hope they all die before the election.”

Marshall University, located in Huntington, West Virginia, released a statement Friday acknowledging the comments were made to the class and revealing that the professor is now on administrative leave pending an investigation.

“Marshall University this morning announced it is aware of an overtly political statement made by a faculty member in a recent virtual classroom session and widely circulated on social media,” the statement read. “The University does not support or condone the use of any of its educational platforms to belittle people or wish harm on those who hold differing political views. The professor was removed from the classroom yesterday and is on administrative leave, pending an investigation. there will be no further comment on this personnel matter at this time.”
