S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole has died aged 46.

An official statement from Cattermole's family confirmed that the singer had passed away at his home in Dorset yesterday (April 6). The cause of death is currently unknown.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole," the statement read.

"Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul's family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time."

Sharing the news via the S Club 7 Twitter account, the band wrote: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."

Cattermole rose to fame as part of S Club 7 in the late 1990s alongside Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt and Rachel Stevens. During their time together the group released four albums, selling over 10 million worldwide.

S Club 7 had multiple chart topping songs, including 'Bring It All Back', 'Never Had A Dream Come True' and 'Don't Stop Movin'.

Cattermole had also appeared in the TV series Miami 7, which followed the group in their attempts to make it big in America.

Following his departure from S Club 7, Cattermole performed in several other music groups, including S Club 3 and S Club Allstars, as well as touring in a production of The Rocky Horror Show in 2015.

Cattermole had also been part of S Club's 2014 reunion and the 2023 comeback tour to mark the group's 25th anniversary.
