A hit West End musical is heading to Norwich on its first UK and Ireland tour.

Norwich Theatre Royal announced today that Tina: The Tina Turner Musical will be rolling on down to the city.

Opening at Curve Leicester on March 6 next year, the show will come to Norwich between January 13 and 24, 2026.

Set to a roof-raising soundtrack featuring songs such as Proud Mary and What’s Love Got to Do with It?, the show follows the life of Anna Mae Bullock from her humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee to her transformation into Tina Turner, the queen of rock and roll.

Having launched in London's West End five years ago at the famous Aldwych Theatre, the critically acclaimed musical was written by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by Phyllida Lloyd.

Tina Turner, who died last May, said of the musical: "It's really important to me to have the chance to share my full story.

"This musical is not about my stardom. It is about the journey I took to get there.

"Each night I want audiences to take away from the theatre that you can turn poison into medicine."

Tickets will go on sale on March 28 from Norwich Theatre Royal.
