Sheriff John Idleburg announces the Lake County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Citizens Police Academy, which will begin on April 2, 2020, and run until June 4, 2020. Classes will be held at the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters in Waukegan and sub-station in Libertyville.

The Citizens Police Academy is open to all Lake County residents aged 18 or older, of good moral character and with no felony convictions. The is a free course and applicants will get an in-depth view of all Sheriff’s Office responsibilities, including Corrections, Highway Patrol, Court Security, Criminal Investigations, Crash Investigations, Evidence Processing, and more.
